"REMEMBER THAT
EPISODE WHERE
MULDER KICKED
THAT WAITRESS IN
THE *%^#
TO DEATH?"
Join the rare team of Rick, Pickles, Topsy, and Johnny Cylon as they investigate one of gaming's strangest forgotten survival horror titles: The X-Files: Resist or Serve. The adventure gets off to an unforgettable start when Mulder strolls into a quiet roadside diner... and immediately does something so horrifying to a waitress that the entire gang is left wondering if they somehow skipped several chapters.
Thankfully, the situation becomes a little more understandable moments later, but not before one of the funniest cold opens in recent memory.
As Mulder and Scully investigate a series of grisly murders, it quickly becomes obvious that Resist or Serve borrowed far more than a few ideas from Resident Evil.
Fixed camera angles, creepy laboratories, inventory puzzles, shambling monsters, and B-movie horror all combine into a surprisingly faithful love letter to Capcom's survival horror formula, only wrapped in FBI credentials and paranormal conspiracies.
The four riff relentlessly on the game's wonderfully awkward dialogue, early-2000s presentation, and increasingly ridiculous situations while uncovering a forgotten licensed game that's far more entertaining than anyone expected. The truth is out there. Apparently, so are zombies. GAME BIO:
Released in 2004 for PlayStation 2, The X-Files: Resist or Serve is a survival horror adventure developed by Black Ops Entertainment. Featuring the voices and likenesses of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, the game reunites FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in an original story that blends paranormal mystery with classic Resident Evil-style gameplay, including fixed camera angles, inventory management, puzzles, and terrifying monsters.
