Rick brings Topsy, Flux, and Pickles back to where it all began with a return to Resident Evil HD Remaster, the first game the gang ever streamed. But this time, there’s a twist: Rick has installed the “1996 Mode” mod, transforming the game’s beautifully remade characters into their gloriously blocky PS1 models and reintroducing the original’s hilariously infamous voice acting.
As they navigate the Spencer Mansion once more, Rick leads the way with a mix of nostalgia and newfound hilarity as Barry’s legendary “Jill sandwich” line hits just as hard (and absurd) as it did decades ago. Flux critiques the clash between the game’s gorgeous environments and the jagged, polygonal survivors stumbling through them.
