Rick, Picklenaught and Cylon trudge through Infliction: Extended Cut, yet another entry in the seemingly endless parade of first-person indie horror games with the same tired twist: surprise, you super-duper murdered your wife. The gang quickly finds themselves rolling their eyes at the predictability, turning what could’ve been a chilling experience into a roast session for the ages. Rick attempts to stay focused on the gameplay, navigating the haunted house and its assortment of spooky clichés.
Picklenaught provides biting commentary, sarcastically tallying how many games have relied on this trope. Meanwhile, Cylon questions whether indie horror developers have a secret club where “wife murder twists” are a requirement.
Despite the game’s overdone premise, the crew’s sharp wit and comedic banter keep the stream lively. If you’re in the mood for some cathartic riffing on the indie horror genre, this stream is a hilarious takedown of tired storytelling and missed potential.
