Earthworm Jim / Frankenstein

1 Episode | 34 minutes | Airdate: Mar. 5th, 2018

"COW LAUNCHED!"

The first Robot Co-Op stream continues to unravel.

After the cartoon chaos of Earthworm Jim, Rick and Flux pivot directly into something that feels like it escaped from a cursed ROM drawer: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein on SNES.

The tonal whiplash is immediate. One moment: neon guitars, gross-out animation, and a worm in a power suit. The next: stiff sprites, joyless movement, and a game that appears to resent being played. Rick and Flux stitch the two experiences together in real time, christening the segment “Mary Shelley’s Earthworm Jim” — a Frankenstein’s monster of a stream moment built from mismatched vibes, exhausted brains, and sheer refusal to stop.

The contrast becomes the joke. The mashup becomes the bit. The stream becomes something else entirely. It’s absurd. It’s accidental. It’s the kind of late-night decision-making that quietly defines what Robot Co-Op will become: chaos through juxtaposition, comedy through collision.

GAME BIO: Earthworm Jim is a high-energy 16-bit platformer celebrated for its surreal humor and expressive animation. Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, by contrast, is a grim SNES adaptation of the classic novel, known for stiff controls and oppressive tone. Played back-to-back, the two form an unintentional experiment in tonal incompatibility — and an unexpectedly perfect Robot Co-Op bit.
